• To conduct research in collaboration with experts including university academics, fellow practitioners and other health care professionals to optimize patient care and reduce health care costs.
• Areas of research include quality improvement, implementation and expansion of remote clinical pharmacist services using innovative solutions to address healthcare disparities.
• Seeking out grant opportunities, innovative funding strategies, collaboration partners and engagement of NTS pharmacists in research.

My research role at NTS has given me the chance to pursue my interest in improving patient care via the expansion of pharmacist services and the reach of a pharmacist’s care. Research into innovative solutions to address health care disparities in remote and rural communities, oftentimes for those most vulnerable, is a NTS priority. In addition, using remote technologies, NTS offers many opportunities for professional growth: provision of patient care in many small and diverse hospitals, development and implementation of innovative programs and services, research publications, and conferences presentations throughout Canada.
